Baroque Festival

This festival is open to all students of all instruments. The festival is adjudicated and the top 50% of performers receive a seal for their certificate as a winner of the festival.

Repertoire Requirements: 

  • Any Baroque piece (or one movement of a piece) can be performed by Pianists, Winds, Strings, or Voice.   (Music must be memorized, with the exception of wind students). 

  • 16 measures minimum

  • No repeats (except D.C.)

  • Pianists must play original works, no arrangements.  Other instruments and voice may use transcriptions and arrangements.

  • Time limit is 4 minutes (for exceptions, contact festival chair)

Eligibility:

All students are eligible to participate in the Branch Baroque Festival. Students studying piano, organ, strings, winds, and voice are welcome to participate.

For piano students, repertoire at the Branch level may include any original composition by J. S. Bach or another Baroque composer.

Approximately 50% of participants will be selected as Winners and will receive a Gold Seal Winner Sticker.
