2025 Ensemble Festival T-Shirt Design Winner
Miyah Kinch
Artists statement: This design draws inspiration from Piet Mondrian’s distinctive use of primary colors and geometric patterns framed by bold black lines. It features a fusion of a violin and a piano, represented through flowing black lines and curves. The upper part of the violin merges with the piano, symbolizing the unity of different instruments in an ensemble. This blending reflects how individual sounds combine to create a harmonious whole. By using black ink to define shapes and curves, it echoes Mondrian’s approach of treating black lines as integral planes rather than mere outlines. Overall, this piece was influenced by the interconnectedness of music and visual art through the use of abstraction and geometry.

Ensemble Festival
Our Ensemble Festival is geared to provide students with the opportunity to perform with peers and learn the art of collaboration. Students may perform with their teacher, a family member, or friend. Students can perform in combinations as piano duets, cross instruments/vocal, groups, etc…. Every few years our festival will feature the addition of a second grand piano to offer a unique opportunity for pianists to perform duos, and concertos.
Repertoire: anything goes! Popular songs included!
T-Shirt Design Contest: Each year students have the opportunity to submit a design for the festival T-shirt. The designs are judged by a local artist each year and the winning artwork is printed on the festival T-shirts. While most students wear the festival t-shirt, students can also dress in theme based on their music or can wear traditional concert attire.
