2026 Ensemble Festival T-Shirt Design Winner

Calia

In an interview with our 2026 T-Shirt design winner:

Interviewer (Artist’s mom): Can you tell us about your design?

Calia: YEP! I love hearts. I love butterflies. I love piano. I love music.

Mom: That definitely shows in your design. Can you tell us what inspired you?

Calia: Well, I wanted to put a rainbow because my favorite song that I play on the piano is “Butterflies and Rainbows” but YOU (rule-abiding Mom) said it was too many colors. But I LOVE RAINBOWS. Rainbow is my favorite color.

So instead, I used the computer to make a big pink heart and lots of beautiful purple butterflies. I love pink and purple.

Mom: Are you excited that people are going to be wearing your design?

Calia: YES. I LOVE IT.

Mom: Great. Anything else people should know?

Calia: YES! I’m on Primer B book. And sometimes I don’t like to say my notes out loud. I’ve been playing piano since I was just 4 years old. Now I’m already 6!

Mom: So, what are you going to do with your prize money?

Calia: OOOoooOooooO!! WELL- something you’re not going to let me do but I want to do.

Mom: What?!

Calia: Buy a kitty even though you’re allergic.

Ensemble Festival

Our Ensemble Festival is geared to provide students with the opportunity to perform with peers and learn the art of collaboration. Students may perform with their teacher, a family member, or friend. Students can perform in combinations as piano duets, cross instruments/vocal, groups, etc…. Every few years our festival will feature the addition of a second grand piano to offer a unique opportunity for pianists to perform duos, and concertos.

Repertoire: anything goes!  Popular songs included!

T-Shirt Design Contest: Each year students have the opportunity to submit a design for the festival T-shirt. The designs are judged by a local artist each year and the winning artwork is printed on the festival T-shirts. While most students wear the festival t-shirt, students can also dress in theme based on their music or can wear traditional concert attire.
